Tortola Sailing and Sights (previously Tortola Sailing School) is owned and run by sailors passionate about sharing their sailing knowledge with you. From complete beginners wanting to learn the ropes, to salty sailors who want to build miles,  we welcome everyone.

We teach on monohull, catamaran, power and rigid inflatable boats (RIB), offering captain exams (and licences) for all.

We offer courses from the ASA (American Sailing Association) and IYT (International Yacht Training). We offer both live aboard and classroom courses, so we will work with you to ensure you complete the right course for you, whether your goal is to learn new skills to be a great crew member, or you want to skipper your own yacht with friends and family.

Our instructors have many years experience and along with their passion for sailing comes their passion for teaching.  Weather you are novice on your first step into the sailing world, an intermediate sailor, who wants to build up confidence and skills or an experienced sailor wanting to further your cruising qualifications. You may have been sailing for years and want to gain some qualifications for recreational chartering or to enhance job opportunities, whatever your needs we would love to help. (If we can't...we will do our best to point you in the right direction.)

All our instructors are qualified IYT, ASA skippers, click here to find out more about the team.

OUR SAILING GROUNDS

We want to show you the beauty of the British Virgin Islands while you learn new sailing skills, in a calm, safe and friendly environment. We also have the opportunity to take students sailing to many different Caribbean islands, on our down island passages, stopping to check out secluded beaches and diving spots along the way.

Hiking in bvi

When you think of the Caribbean you imagine crystal clear waters, the sugary white sandy beaches and maybe a pina colada under a palm tree, but few think about the amazing hikes and spectacular views over the 60 odd islands we have here in BVI.  The panorama vistas from the top of Virgin Gorda, Peter Island or Tortola allow you to enjoy the beauty of the blue waters and the sail boats going by.  Weather you are after a steep sunrise climb or a relaxing walking, our skippers know the best islands to take you. Make sure to pack your walking boots with your bikini (or trunks).
